India Telegraphs: India 1855–56, group of four used “Electric Telegraphs in India—Bengal Circle” forms, comprising commercial telegrams. The manuscript messages principally concern commodity prices and trading instructions; one form additionally bears extensive annotations in an Indian script. A scarce and appealing group from the formative years of Indian telegraphy, retaining the printed contemporary tariff tables. (4)
