India 1857 (Sep 16) folded letter from Bombay to Marseilles. Contents state about the Indian Mutiny: “large quantity of English troops now on their way…. Dreadful occurences in Bengal and the N. W. Provinces of India…. Delhi, the strongholdof the rebels, is still holding out against us, but we have hopes that this month will not pass over without our striking a decisive blow in that quarter.“
