The mistake was discovered shortly after printing, with most specimens destroyed. The stamp was supposed to have 2r value. However, a printing error was made, and the stamp got a 1r denomination instead. Moreover, the stamp got the Hindi name of the bird incorrect. It is thought that all other 1r specimens were destroyed by the Indian Post Office, but few of them had been discovered in Year Packs.
